Rural Enabler is a regional innovation capability program supporting producers and regional innovators across Central and Western Queensland.
Innovation starts long before a startup
Many regional innovations begin with a frustration, an observation, a recurring problem or simply the sense that something could work better. Rural Enabler helps people explore those early ideas and challenges without requiring a startup, business plan or commercialisation goal.

About the program
Rural Enabler is delivered by CHRRUP through the Queensland Government’s Regional Enablers Program, helping strengthen regional innovation capability, connection and participation.

Practical innovation capability for regional Queensland
Rural Enabler is designed to make innovation more accessible, practical and relevant for people living and working in regional communities.
At the centre of the program is the Everyday Innovator Framework - a practical six-module learning journey that helps people notice opportunities, define problems, explore possible pathways, test assumptions, understand what support is available and decide what to do next.
Innovation does not have to mean creating a startup or commercialising a new product. There are three equally valid pathways:
USE - solve something for yourself, your business or your community.
SHARE - make an idea or solution useful to others.
COMMERCIALISE - explore whether there is a viable commercial opportunity.
Your pathway can change as you learn more.
